Özet


Bu
çalışmada ekonomik gelişme göstergeleri ile etnik çatışmalar arasında bir
ilişkinin olup olmadığı tartışılmış ve tespit edilebilen ilişkilerin niteliği
analiz edilmiştir. Ekonomik faktörler ile etnik çatışmalar arasında anlamlı bir
ilişkinin kurulabileceği fakat bunun tek yönde genellenebilir bir ilişki
olmadığı savunulmuştur. Zira birçok vakada kimlik vurgusu, ekonomik çıkar
güdüsünün önüne geçebilmektedir. Dahası, gelişmiş
ülkelerin az gelişmiş ülkelerdeki çatışmalara müdahale edebilme kapasiteleri
ile az gelişmiş ülkelerin gelişmiş ülkelerdeki etnik sorunlara müdahale edebilme
kapasiteleri aynı olmadığı için az gelişmiş veya gelişmekte olan ülkelerdeki etnik
çatışmalar hem siyasî hem iktisadî anlamda dış müdahale faktörleriyle daha
kolay uluslararasılaşabilmektedir.

Abstract


This
paper aims to discuss the existence of a relationship between economical
development indicators and ethnic conflicts as well as to analyse the quality
of that relationship. It is argued that a significant, albeit not
generalisable, relationship exists between economical factors and conflicts. Ethnic
identity prevails over economical interests in a great deal of cases.
Furthermore, the capacity of developed nations to intervene in conflicts in
underdeveloped nations is certainly much higher than the capacity of
underdeveloped nations to intervene in conflicts in developed nations. Ethnic
conflicts in underdeveloped and/or developing nations are easily
internationalised as they are more vulnerable to foreign interventions in both
political and economical terms.
