 تتناول هذه الدراسة اختراع جهاز التلفاز، والتطورات التقنية التي طرأت عليه وعلى تقنيات الإرسال التلفازي، وكيف استفاد المخترعون والباحثون في هذا المجال من الاختراعات السابقة، وكيف وضعت السينما والتصوير الفوتوغرافي الأسس النظرية والعلمية لتصوير الأشياء المتحركة وعرضها؛ ووضع الراديو أسس نقل الإشارات الصوتية، وبالتالي المرئية عبر الموجات الهوائية. وتنبع أهمية هذه الدراسة من كونها مادة علمية نظرية تغطي جانبا مهما في دراسة التلفاز. واعتمد الباحث على المنهج الوصفي التاريخي الذي يهتم بدراسة التلفاز كشيء أكثر ما كونه جهاز تقني، شيء يتعلق في التطورات التاريخية والاجتماعية التي ساهمت في تطوير تقنيات الصورة التلفازية والإرسال التلفازي، وهذا يتضمن توثيق الأحداث التاريخية والاجتماعية والعلمية التي أثرت على تطور جهاز التلفاز والإرسال التلفازي. وخلصت الدراسة أن التطورات التكنولوجية والسياسية والاجتماعية، أثرت تأثيرا كبيرا على الصورة التلفازية، وتقنيات الإرسال التلفازي الذي تجاوز الزمانية والمكانية وجعل العالم قرية واحدة باستخدام الأقمار الصناعية في مجال الإرسال التلفازي.
                  This study deals with the invention of the television, the technical developments which have taken place and the transmission techniques; how inventors and researchers in this area benefited from previous inventions; how cinema and photography put theoretical and scientific bases for shooting moving objects and display and how the radio made foundations for audio and TV signals over airwaves. The importance of this study comes from being scientific and theoretical material which covers an important aspect in the TV studies. The researcher adopted the descriptive historical methodology which studies TV as something more as a technical device; something to do with the historical and social developments which have contributed to the development of TV and techniques of broadcasting. This includes documenting historical, social and scientific events, which influenced the development of the TV and broadcasting. This study has concluded that the technological, political and social developments had a major impact on TV and broadcasting, which exceeded the temporal and spatial and made the world one village by using the satellite facilities in TV broadcasting.
