Kültür tarafından kadın ve erkeğe yüklenen toplumsal cinsiyet rollerinin her alanda bireyler üzerinde etkisi vardır. Peki, bu etki geleneksel bağlamda masallar üzerinde kendini nasıl göstermektedir? Bu soruya cevap bulabilmek amacıyla 370 Türk masalı incelenmiş ve masallarda geçen hediyeleşme motifi tespit edilmeye çalışılmıştır. Ulaşılan hediyeleşme motiflerinden hareketle toplumsal cinsiyet rollerinin hediyeleşme geleneği üzerindeki etkileri ortaya çıkarılmaya çalışılmıştır. Çalışmada öncelikle hediye, toplumsal cinsiyet, toplumsal cinsiyet rolleri ve masal türü ile ilgili bilgiler verilip devamında masallarda tespit edilen hediyeleşme motifleri bulunduğu bağlam içerisinde gösterilmiştir. Çalışmanın son kısmında ise metinlerde geçen hediyeleşme toplumsal cinsiyet bağlamında ele alınmıştır.
