Abstract:

In this study, the origin, source, form, clans, tribes and the geography of the regions that it takes place in and its traces in different nations, of a traditional Turkish horse-bacak riding sport, amble (yorga) horse-riding, was researched. It is believed that amble horse-riding plays an important role in the formation of material and moral cultural elements ofish nation. It is also understood that according to the national qualities and determination, it is a horse-riding sport that is in accordance to nomad and steppe lifestyle. Finally, it is observed that this sport has expansively and modestly taken place in Asia and Anatolia in every period of history.
