Abstract:

Abstract:

The discovery of oil in Algeria had a prominent impact on the French policy in Algeria, France was depended on obtaining its oil needs on imports from the Middle East and other regions, so it devoted most of its attention to controlling Algerian oil, in order to be able to provide its oil needs and export the surplus to the market of the European Union, Which contributes to the development and prosperity of the French economy, which was stagnant after the end of World War II.
Which led to France’s endeavor to lay down plans and strategies, and to think about linking Algeria economically, and one of the most important of these projects is the Constantine Project, October 3, 1958, Which, on its face, includes comprehensive economic and social reforms for the benefit of the Algerian population and is accompanied by political reforms that allow strengthening the status of Algerian in the various administrative centers and elected institutions, in the hope that an appropriate climate will emerge paving the way for determining the permanent political framework that defines Algeria’s relationship with France in a way that guarantees Preserving the economic and strategic interests of France in Algeria.
