Abstract
The present research aimed at examining the relationship between emotional intelligence and level of ambition among university students. It also aimed at revealing whether there were statistically significant differences in emotional intelligence and level of ambition according to the gender variable. The sample of this research was consisted of 187 university students (141 female and 46 male). To meet research goal, the researcher used two scales: emotional intelligence scale of Schutte & al(1997) and the level of ambition scale prepared by Muawad and Abdul Azim(2005). After analyzing the data using the statistical packages for social sciences program (SPSS, version 20), the result showed:
1-	There were no statically significant differences in emotional intelligence due to the gender variable.
2-	There were no statically significant differences in level of ambition due to the gender variable.
3-	There was a significant positive correlation between the dimensions of emotional intelligent and the level of ambition.
4-	The dimensions of the emotional intelligence (the regulation of emotion and the utilization of emotion) were predictors of level of ambition among university students.
