Abstract:

University
education has an important place in the lives of individuals. This education is
extremely important for their preparation for future occupations, obtaining
knowledge and skills that are necessary for their lives. However, some students
cannot find what they expect and face various problems at their life to which
they begin with difficult examination process. These problems lived during the
university training process can negatively affect their personal world as well
as their education. In addition, there are other difficulties at obtaining
training at abroad. Finding places to live, nutrition, economic difficulties,
transportation, language problems, having friends, and homesick are just some
of those problems. In this context, the aim of this study is to investigate the
problems faced by Turkish students at university preference process and
education in the case of Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University.

The research
examines the problems of Turkish students having training at various faculties
at Manas about their socio-economic, cultural background, the process of
university preference and their satisfaction with their education. The research
is a survey model and based on the questionnaire. According to the results of
the research, most of Turkish students did not make their preference of
university consciously. Some students preferred this university for wonder and
adventure, going away from their families, and having not enough score to be
able to attend other universities in Turkey.

In general, they
are happy with studying at this university. The students satisfied with their
faculties highlight the following reasons: The quality of education,
appropriate environment, language and culture. Those who are unsatisfied
students emphasize the issues such as language problem, deficiencies at
educational programs, inadequate social activities, financial problems,
inadequate health system, prejudices and homesick.

Üniversite
 eğitimi bireylerin hayatında önemli bir
yere sahiptir.
