Abstract:

In
this study, the international competitiveness level of the airline sector in
Turkey is analyzed using a scale based on the Michael Porter’s Diamond Model. In
the study, the questionnaire, a quantitative data collection tools, was used.
According to the results of the descriptive analysis of the applied surveys,
the averages of the factors affecting the international competitiveness of the
Turkish airline sector are as follows: Factor conditions (3,19), demand conditions
(3,85), firm strategy, structure and rivalry (3,17), related and supporting
industries (3,17) and government (2,72). While the Turkish airline sector is
considered highly competitive in terms of factors affecting demand, the state
should develop its role in competitiveness.

Bu çalışmada Michael Porter’ın Elmas Modeli’nden
yararlanılarak geliştirilen ölçek yardımı ile Türkiye’deki havayolu sektörünün
uluslararası rekabetçilik düzeyi analiz edilmektedir. Araştırmada veri toplama
yöntemi olarak nicel veri toplama araçlarından anket kullanılmıştır. Tanımlayıcı
istatistik sonuçlarına göre Türk havayolu sektörünün uluslararası rekabetçilik
gücünü etkileyen faktörlerin ortalamaları şu şekildedir: Girdi koşulları
faktörü (3,19), talebi etkileyen faktörler (3,85), sektördeki firmaların yapısı
ve stratejileri (3,17), ilgili ve destekleyici kuruluşlar (3,17) ve devlet
(2,72). Türk havayolu sektörü talebi etkileyen faktörler açısından oldukça
rekabetçi olarak değerlendirilirken, devletin rekabetçilikteki rolünü
geliştirmesi gerektiği ortaya çıkmıştır.
