Abstract:

Abstract:
Popular culture can be a means of strengthening the mechanisms of solidarity within a society, but it can also become an obstacle that prevented a society from renewing its system of values in such a way as to conform to the logic of progress and civilizational openness. In this paper, we attempt to explore the manifestations of popular culture in Arab-Muslim societies and examine, to some extent, its ability to become a barrier for researchers in the field of human and social sciences, which would prevent them from objectively judging the different social phenomena studied. We will also demonstrate the inability of this culture to face up to the cultural hegemony engendered by capitalism, but which results in its reser so control over individuals within Muslim societies. In addition, we will highlight the role of philosophy in dismantling illusions of popular culture, and practical strategies that can be used to achieve this goal in order to allow Muslim societies to move forward.
