Abstract:

In this article, the establishment and functioning of the Yam Organization are discussed. This study also discusses about the effects of the Yam Organization on the development of the Mongolian Empire. Mongols, who united culturally developed Eurasian countries under a single roof and thus extended their dominance, felt the need to pay attention to the postal organization upon the widening of the borders and the extension of the distances between the center and the states. This is mainly due to the fact that any empire, which has achieved to unite a wide geography under a single roof, has to find a systematic organization to address all areas in order to be able to hold this geography permanently under its control. In this research, while the establishment stages of the postal organization were explained, it was revealed in the sources that the Mongol Empire, which left a great mark in world history, got its power.
