Abstract:

Research Problem: The central research problem questions the extent to which modern Western philosophy reproduces Eurocentrism by exclusively assuming the originality of Greek philosophy and marginalizing non-Western philosophical contributions, particularly Arab-Islamic thought. This creates an imbalanced and incomplete historical narrative.
Methodology and Objectives: This research employs an analytical-critical methodology to deconstruct the manifestations of Eurocentrism in the texts of four prominent Western philosophers (Hegel, Heidegger, Gadamer, Levinas) and to reveal the exclusionary mechanisms they employed. It also reviews the critical stances of Arab thinkers (Al-Jabri, Taha Abdel Rahman, Hassan Hanafi) towards this tendency, aiming to propose frameworks for a global, multi-sourced philosophy that transcends Western monocentrism and fosters integrative knowledge.
Findings: The study concludes that Eurocentrism is not a neutral historical fact but an ideological construct reinforced through closed philosophical narratives. The research also emphasized the necessity of moving beyond mere negative criticism towards building a cosmopolitan philosophical vision that recognizes the plurality of origins and the equivalence of all cultures in the human intellectual heritage. Furthermore, the research contributes to promoting knowledge integration by highlighting the multi-source nature of philosophical thought
