 The aim of this research is to develop students ability to play musical works by heart with activities that are based on learning strategies in guitar education. This research is an action research. In this context, the study group of the research consists of undergraduate students who took Individual Instrument Training 6 -Guitar course for the first time in the spring semester of the 2021- 2022 academic year in Muğla Sıtkı Koçman University, Faculty of Education, Department of Fine Arts Education. Research data is collected with three data collection tools: semi- structured interview forms created by the researcher, guitar performance observation form and researcher notes. In the research, descriptive analysis method is used to analize the qualitative data obtained from student opinions. Paired sample t-test is used to analyze the quantitative data. In the results obtained in line with the sub-objectives of the research, the students perception is that; the learning strategies applied here support performance development in terms of factors such as focusing on performance and music on stage, expressing the nuances better, and increasing their command of the guitar. According to the student opinions, using different learning strategies helped them reach their learning goals in a shorter time, and positively affected their playing skills and performance. As a result of the application carried out within the framework of the action plan of the research, a significant difference is found between the guitar performance observation form pretest and posttest scores of the experimental group, and it is determined that the effect size value for the difference is at a high level.

 Bu araştırmanın amacı gitar eğitiminde öğrenme stratejilerine dayalı etkinlikler ile öğrencilerin eserlerini ezbere çalma becerilerinin geliştirilmesidir. Araştırma bir eylem araştırmasıdır. Araştırmanın çalışma grubu, Muğla Sıtkı Koçman Üniversitesi Eğitim Fakültesi Güzel Sanatlar Eğitimi Bölümü Müzik Eğitimi Anabilim Dalında 2021-2022 eğitim-öğretim yılı bahar yarıyılında Bireysel Çalgı Eğitimi 6 -Gitar dersini ilk kez alan, lisans öğrencilerinden oluşmaktadır. Araştırma verileri, araştırmacı tarafından oluşturulan yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme formları ve gitar performans gözlem formu olmak üzere iki veri toplama aracı ile toplanmıştır. Araştırmada öğrenci görüşlerinden elde edilen nitel çerçevedeki veriler betimsel analiz yöntemi ile analiz edilmiştir. Nicel çerçevedeki verilerin çözümlenmesinde ise bağımlı t-testi kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın alt amaçları doğrultusunda elde edilen sonuçlarda gitar eserlerini ezbere çalmaya ilişkin öğrencilerin; sahnede performansa ve müziğe odaklanmak, nüansları daha iyi ifade edebilmek, gitara olan hakimiyetini arttırmak gibi faktörler açısından performans gelişimini desteklediği algısına sahip oldukları belirlenmiştir. Öğrenci görüşlerine göre, farklı öğrenme stratejilerinden yararlanmak onların öğrenme hedeflerine daha kısa sürede erişmesine katkı sağlamış, ezbere çalma becerilerini ve performanslarını olumlu yönde etkilemiştir. Araştırmada eylem planı çerçevesinde gerçekleştirilen uygulama sonucunda deney grubunun gitar performans gözlem formu öntest ve sontest puanları arasında anlamlı bir fark bulunmuş, farklılığa yönelik etki büyüklüğü değerinin ise yüksek düzeyde oluğu belirlenmiştir.
