Abstract:

The importance of "rhythmic structure", which is among the most important elements in instrument training and performance, always comes to the fore. Considering the "sound source" and "rhythm" elements in the short definition of the phenomenon called music, it is known that it is a basic condition that every musician should have a rhythm systematic. On this basis, when the concept called "rhythmic structure" is considered, the importance of using a metronome emerges. The aim of this study; The aim is to convey the necessary technical information on how to eliminate these problems by trying to reveal some of the problems identified in developing the sense of rhythm and adapting it to the oud instrument.
In the study, the subject of how the use of metronome should be applied primarily with plectrum techniques in the oud instrument is discussed and basic information is given. At the same time, the setbacks caused by the wrong plectrum usage in metronome systematics are also mentioned. Information about some muscle syndromes caused by the use of wrong plectrum technique in the performer was given and necessary explanations were made. In addition, synchronous disturbances caused by incorrect determination of metronome speed are also discussed within the scope of this study. The causes of synchronous disorders that occur both between the fingers on the oud keyboard and in the plectrum strokes were also evaluated. It has been tried to explain in detail how the Upper (A) and Lower (B) system, which is the basic logic of the plectrum strokes, should be applied.
Some technical explanations are given on how to adapt the rhythmics created by the note measures to the oud instrument by using the metronome. The basis of these technical explanations are 1/4, 1/8 and Triole patterns. It has emerged within the scope of this study that these patterns are very important in the relationship between oud and metronome. In this study, the survey model, one of the qualitative research methods, was used to collect data on the subject, and the data obtained as a result of the research were interpreted by using the descriptive analysis method and various suggestions were made in this context.
