Abstract:

The operations of searching, extracting, refining and transporting oil may leave wastes that negatively affect the natural environment with its components (air, "gases emanating from the oil fields cause air pollution" and land "pollution of soil with industrial waste" and marine "oil spill") in the oil-producing governorates, including in Basra Governorate, which is considered one of the most dangerous environmental pollutants as it encroaches on its biological system (humans, animals and plants) in the absence of integration between the environmental and economic activities, "the absence of environmental standards for oil operations." Therefore, the aim of the research lies in studying the conceptual framework of oil pollution in terms of its various sources and the consequent negative effects on the visual environment and the visual individual alike.
