Abstract:

It is generally accepted at academic and administrative levels that regional development does not consist only of economic development, but also includes sociological, environmental and managerial dimensions as well as having an economic dimension. With these dimensions, development is meaningful if it is sustainable. Regional development policies are also expected to have a sustainable quality and to follow the global agenda and targets in sustainable development policies. Within this framework, it is considered as an important issue that the sustainable regional development agenda and targets are the main axis in regional development plans. It is expected that the regional development agencies established on the basis of the governance model will place the global sustainable development goals on the main axis in their regional plans and take action for the global agenda and targets on this issue at the local level within the framework of glocalization. In this study, regional plans prepared by Istanbul Development Agency, East Marmara Development Agency, South Marmara Development Agency, Bursa Eskişehir Bilecik Development Agency, and Trakya Development Agency for the years 2014-2023 were taken as samples. The regional plans were analyzed in terms of the United Nations 2030 Sustainable Development Goals within the framework of the content analysis method.
