Abstract:

To get rid of nuclear scraps maintained by the advanced countries and subsequently to preserve such collection in safe ditches it NEEDS a sophisticated problem of contemporary significance. This incurs a huge cost of billions of dollars. IN USA. ranges between 23 billion to 100 billion. Indeed, MAFiA criminal gangs have incurred such expenditure to transfer such scraps to developing nations. They have mobilized both channels — smuggling and dubious transactions with pertinent officials operating in respective countries.Within the given context, the present research seeks to address the following questions:• What are the various forms of nuclear scraps transfer to the developing nations?• Is the extinction of an effective and articulate set of legal norms a potent cause for the emergence of the present dilemma?• Is the absence of coordination on the part of the regional countries leads to the emergent dangers associated with nuclear scraps? The present research offers some salient findings. The latter are in order:• Operations related to the transfer of nuclear scraps to underdeveloped countries are on constant rise.• Deficiency of coordination exists among developing countries to counter this problem. The present research, in its conclusive section, offers some recommendations.ـ International legal norms of pertinence should be given relative importance. Its twin dimensions — implementation and effectiveness — should be given special consideration.ـ Regional coordination on combating this crime should be given ample importance.
