Abstract:

Computer and internet-based technological developments have caused radical changes in some industries. With these changes, the potential for the discovery of extra-terrestrial elements has emerged by the disappearance of global borders. Many elements in the universe such as space, solar system, planets, black holes have become interesting values. These values have led to the emergence of the concepts of space tourism and tourist by passing to the interplanetary dimension within the scope of tourism. In addition, space tourism applications have been started by preparing space travels for interested people from the leading countries of the world. In addition, seeing, observing and exploring the universe, apart from such physical travels, which require high costs, becomes possible by experiencing it in virtual environments as a different method. In this study, firstly space tourism and web-based astronomy activities are explained conceptually. Then, the AAS WorldWide Telescope Program provided by the American Astronomical Society is outlined. The program draws attention to the potential tourism activities that will be revealed in the virtual travel and guided space tours experiences, as well as providing information within the scope of space tourism in the future. These activities can be listed as astronomy museums, astro trips, virtual applications related to education and geographical areas.
