 منذ أن خلق الله تعالى هذا الكون ووضع فيه البشر، لم يتركهم متخبطين في شؤون حياتهم، بل فقد أرسل إليهم الرسل، وجعل محمدًا صلى الله عليه وسلم آخرهم وخاتمهم. والذي جاء به صلى الله عليه وسلم لم يكن دينًا جديدًا، بل كان إصلاحًا لما وقع في الإسلام من التحريف والتبديل، بأيدي أتباع الأنبياء من قبله، فحينما وصل الإسلام إلى آخر شكله ختمه الله تعالى ببعثة آخر الرسل محمد صلى الله عليه وسلم، فأكمل له الدين، وجعل شريعته كاملة شاملة. أما الشرائع التي قبلها، فكانت محدودة في حاجات الناس في تلك الأزمنة والعصور، ولم يكن العقل الإنساني في ذلك الحين قد وصل إلى الذروة، بل كان ما يزال في طفولته فكرًا وشعورًا، إلى أن وصلت الشريعة إلى ذروتها، فجعلها الله تعالى شريعة كاملة جامعة شاملة؛ لكي ترشد الناس إلى سواء السبيل، فلا يخرج من دائرتها أي شعبة من شعب الحياة، فكانت بذلك كفيلة لجميع الحاجات الإنسانية، الدنيوية والأخروية، المادية والروحية، فهي من هذه الناحية لا تفرق بين الدين والدنيا، وبين الجسم والروح، بل العيش في الدنيا مع الشريعة الإلهية اسم للإسلام، هذا هو ذاك التصور الذي يبرز جوانب الرحمة للطبقات الإنسانية. وهذا البحث الذي بين أيدينا، يبحث في إحدى فئات المجتمع الإسلامي، إلا وهي فئة غير المسلمين، فيتناول البحث الحديثَ في الحقوق التي منحها الإسلام لغير المسلمين العائشين في كنف المسلمين في دار الإسلام، وتطبيقاتها عليهم بشكل عام، مع التركيز على إبراز جوانب الرحمة منها بشكل خاص.  ويهدف هذا البحث إبراز جوانب الرحمة في الحقوق التي منحها الإسلام لغير المسلمين في المجتمع الإسلامي والرد على الطاعنين في الإسلام من ناحية حقوق غير المسلمين وتقديم نماذج التطبيقات العملية للرحمة في الإسلام.
                  Since the creation of the universe and its inhabitants, Allah the almighty has not left them clueless in their affairs, rather He has sent his messengers to guide them and to remind them about the purpose of their creation. Of all the messengers Allah the almighty sent, Prophet Muhammad (May the peace and blessings be upon Him) was the last one. The message brought by Him (PBUH) was not something new to what had been revealed before instead it was reformation of misconstruction and alteration created by the followers of the previous messengers. The state of that message was called al-IslÉm (Total Submission). And Allah the almighty made al-Islam a complete and comprehensive way of life for the guidance of all mankind, not a single aspect of life has been left without providing the vibrant directions. This is the fact which makes Islam bondsman for the all necessities of mankind; worldly, hereafter, material and spiritual. In this regard Islam does not make any distinction between the religion and world, form and soul. In fact living life according to the Shariah is Islam. This concept highlights the characteristics of compassion and mercy for all the humanity. This paper will deliberate on one class of the human society, those who prefer to live under the IslÉmic Shariah. This study willl discuss the rights that Islam has bestowed them with and the application of these rights.
